Campaign Story

I’m writing this not for myself—but for my daughter and her wife. I am their mother, and I’m asking from the deepest place in my heart for your help as they continue their journey to become parents.

They’ve been trying for a couple years now. They’ve tracked cycles, timed inseminations, consulted doctors, paid out of pocket for every single procedure. They’ve gone through over a dozen home insemination attempts (ICI) and two professional IUIs, each one ending in heartbreak. They’ve spent thousands of dollars trying to build their family—and now, they’re preparing to try again through IUI, their best medical path forward. But the cost is simply too high to continue without help.

What breaks my heart the most is that they would make the most incredible parents. My daughter works in education, helping adults who never had the chance to finish high school earn their diplomas. Her wife is equally giving and compassionate. Together, they pour their hearts into others every day—and they have so much more love to give.

But this process has been emotionally and financially draining. Their insurance covers almost nothing for fertility treatment. IVF and adoption are financially out of reach. Fostering, while a beautiful path for many, offers no promise of permanency—and after so much disappointment, I don’t know if they could emotionally survive another goodbye.

They dream of bringing a child into their home—a home filled with love, stability, patience, and laughter. They want to grow their family in a way that allows them both to be a part of the process, to share in the wonder of conception and pregnancy together.

I would hate to see money or the absence of proper insurance coverage be the reason they don’t get to become the mothers they are so ready to be.
